Well, this is only day three of the Collage for Self Discovery and already things seem to be appearing on the page that I didn't really expect. I've just been picking out bits and pieces of images from my magazines and collection of oddments of collage papers/unused gelli prints/die cuts that take my eye, or seem to attract me for some reason - I don't start with any real plan for what I will do with them. I put them on my worktop and arrange them on the page before glueing them down.
I'm still finding it hard coming to terms with the loss of my friend 7 months ago, I still have up days and down days - from the picture that appeared on my page though it does look like there is a bit of a break in the dark clouds, even though the landscape is still mostly desolate.
The words are from psalm 103, this was sung at my friends funeral and although I am not a religious person (spiritual yes, religious no) they gave me some comfort, so I finished off the collage by adding them.
My studio was open today as it is still Art on the Map so my daughter and her husband went out to explore on their own then later they went for a walk along the beach with my husband while I cooked our meal. Afterwards we sat and chatted while I crocheted, she knitted and the men watched football. A lovely evening.
