There really is something about using a "proper" ink pen isn't there. I went to school long enough ago (nearly 40 years) in times when we absolutely had to use a fountain pen or cartridge pen - if you used biro in your exercise books you received a detention. My grandmother bought me a beautiful Sheaffer fountain pen for my 21st birthday and i've treasured it always. I haven't used it for a few years but it is always sitting in the pot of pens and pencils on my desk where i can see it. I decided that i would refill it and try it out for sketching but it seems like the ink flow gets clogged. When i get chance i will do a quick google and see what i can come up with to do a little maintenance on it - it may just be as simple as flushing it through with clean water or even buying a new nib for it.
