Day 8, a Swallow catching insects. Acrylic paint on 6" x 6" card. I decided to go with a different theme for each week, this week it will be birds.
The Barn Swallows here in the UK are a different sub-species to the North American ones, the ones here are much whiter on the underparts.
Birds are my big passion in life (apart from art) and it frustrates the hell out of me that I can't draw or paint them effectively! Ah well, will be getting plenty of practice this coming week with my bird-related theme.
Also worked on my Inspiration Wednesday first page of the year today as well. I didn't have the same stencils as Donna used in her tutorial so used a flower one that I already had and then for the text cut my own stencil. It's the first time i've cut a stencil - i've had the small tool and the mylar sheets for over a year but hadn't plucked up courage to use them yet! It went pretty well and I was pleased with the result and can see that this is something I will do again soon.
Sometime over the weekend I need to make a cover for my IW journal - I have my inner pages - taken from a dismantled Dylusions journal and think I'll make the cover from gelli printed watercolour paper. I then need to put it all together, like Donna's it comprises two signatures and so will be enough pages for the whole year of this every other week class. The Inspiration Journals that Donna makes have a fabric cover but I don't really have anything suitable.
